Mrs. Katherine Jane Black Otts Hayes, age 84 of Douglasville, GA and formerly of Sulligent, AL in the Shiloh Community, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at Grace Assisted Living in Douglasville.

Mrs. Hayes was born July 18, 1929, in Sulligent, AL, to the late John Carlos and Mattie Jane Black. She was a jobber with NAPA auto parts. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hayes; two sons, Donny and Jimmy Otts; two brothers, Leon and Johnny Black; and one sister, Peggy Black.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 in the funeral home chapel with Terry McAdams officiating. Visitation will be Saturday 12-1 prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Furnace Hill.

Survivors include her son, Gary Otts; her daughter, Linda Dorsey; two sisters, Grace Helwig and Martha Chastain; five grandchildren, Carlos Otts, Marlo Scoggins, Kathy Staggs, Jennifer Huffman, and John Dorsey; and seven great-grandchildren, Felicia Gerlach, Brittani Otts, Megan Scoggins, Julia Gerlach, Maddie Scoggins, Allison Staggs, and Abigail Huffman.
