Ms. Katherine "Kathy" Lynn McKinney, age 64 of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, at her residence.

Kathy was born July 26, 1956, in Corinth, MS, to Kenneth and Sara McKinney.  Kathy graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1974, and was head cheerleader.  Kathy was a people person, and her family was everything to her, especially her son and grandchildren.  She loved music, all animals,  and riding horses, and was a friend to everyone she met.  She also enjoyed swimming and taught numerous children how to swim.  Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny McKinney.

There will be a memorial service at a later time.

Kathy is survived by her son, Coleman (Krystal) Pipkin; her parents, Kenneth and Sara McKinney; two grandchildren, Sydney and Blaze Pipkin; two brothers, Scott (Stacy) McKinney and David (Michelle) McKinney; two sisters, Sally (Tim) Wiggle and Beth (Tommy) Hering; her sister-in-law, Amy McKinney; 14 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
