Mr. Murry Kenneth Franks, age 82, of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Franks was born July 31, 1942, in Birmingham, AL, to the late John Morgan and Rae (Gilmer) Franks.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, collecting guns and knives, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Mr. Franks was a faithful member of Columbus Christian Center, and was always praying for his family and friends.  He was a retired welder, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herschel Franks and John Larry Franks, and one sister, Doris Jean Franks.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 15, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Kenny Gardner officiating.  Burial will follow at Wofford Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Doris Franks, of Vernon, AL; two sons, Kenneth Scott Franks of Caledonia, MS and Chad Franks of Vernon, AL; four grandchildren, Morgan Franks, Raichel Pinkerton, Farrah Franks, and Gavin Franks; three great-grandchildren, Kinsleigh Franks, Tucker Franks, and Sawyer Franks; one brother, Samuel Franks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
