Mr. Larry Wade DuBose, age 68 of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Mr. DuBose was born June 13, 1949, in Vernon, AL, to Maggie Lois DuBose and the late Lloyd Cecil DuBose.  He was a barber and owned and operated Larry's Barber Shop in Vernon for a number of years.  Mr. DuBose was a member of the Vernon and Crossville Fire Departments and served as fire chief for both.  He was a faithful member of the Vernon Church of Christ and enjoyed studying the Bible.  In 2011, Mr. DuBose was awarded Citizen of the Year by the Vernon Chamber of Commerce.  Mr. DuBose was a friend to everyone he met but his main enjoyment was being with his family.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 at the Vernon Church of Christ with Eddie Finch officiating.  Graveside services will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be Saturday evening 6-8 at the funeral home.

Mr. DuBose is survived by his wife, Brenda DuBose, of Vernon, AL; his daughter, Taylor (Trey Christmas) DuBose of Vernon, AL; two granddaughters, Aubrey and Lakelyn Christmas of Vernon, AL; his mother, Maggie Lois DuBose of Vernon, AL; and a host of family and friends.
