Mrs. Laura Ruth Vice, age 69, of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

Mrs. Vice was born September 26, 1956, in Sulligent, AL, to Patsy Ruth McGee and the late Melvin Kelly Hood.  She was a bus driver for Head Start, and was married to the love of her life, the late John William Vice.  She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Brad and Ruby Gray Merchant; her brothers, Kelly Ray Hood, Jimmy Hood, and Jackie Hood; one half-brother, Steve Hood; one sister, Janet Lee Hood; and one half-sister, Eva Hood.

Funeral services will be Sunday, November 9, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Joe Moseley and Bro. Jeff Long officiating.  A graveside service will follow at Walnut Grove.  Visitation will be Saturday evening, 6:00-9:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Vice, Eddie Vice, Braydon Vice, Will Vice, Lee Page, Eli Page, and Chris Black.  Honorary pallbearers will be Elbert Vice, Barry Vice, Scott Vann, Greg Flippo, Terry Hawkins, Bryan Vice, and Larry Hardy.

Survivors include her mother, Patsy McGee; two sons, Eddie (Ashley) Vice and Johnny Vice; one daughter, Stephanie (Lee) Page; six grandchildren, Kristyn Vice, Braydon Vice, Anna Vice, Will Vice, Emmalye Page, and Eli Page; two great-grandchildren, Connor and Corbin Morrison; and a host of other family and friends.
