Lavelle Patrick

Lavelle Butler Patrick, age 82, of Vernon, AL, went to her heavenly home on February 23, 2026, at Generations of Vernon.

Lavelle was born September 22, 1943, to the late Clatie Butler and Lou Stanford Butler in Vernon, AL.  She was a graduate of Lamar County High School.

Lavelle was a life long member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Vernon.  She loved her Lord and Savior and made sure her children and grandchildren knew Him.  She was a faithful servant and her presence will forever be missed.

Lavelle worked for Foodway and Turner's grocery for 43 years.  There she worked along side with family and made friendships that has lasted a lifetime.  She always had a smile and a kind word to say.

Lavelle grew up in a little community called Fellowship.  This is where she was raised and the place she called home.  She talked of going home in her last days, home to Mama and Daddy's.  Lavelle is now home, a place she has longed to be for so long.  To be home with Mama and Daddy, and her brothers and sisters.  What a glorious reunion that must be. 

Lavelle loved family to gather around the table on Sundays after church, then move to the porch and talk awhile.  There were moments she cherished.  She loved her family and was dearly loved.  The words of wisdom she shared, the stories she told of long ago, and the love and laughter.  These memories will be treasured forever.

Lavelle is preceded in death by her parents, Clatie and Lou Butler; her brothers, Rollie Butler, Banks Butler, and little Glen Butler; and her sisters, Milaree Romerill and Wynell Turner.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 26, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Robbie Bradford officiating.  Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Todd Patrick, Toby Patrick, Brandon Patrick, Blake Patrick, and Jason Turner.

Lavelle is survived by her two sons, Todd (Tammy) Patrick and Toby Patrick, both of Vernon, AL; two grandsons, Brandon (Beth) and Blake (Tosha) Patrick, both of Vernon, AL; four great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Allie, Emma, and Avery Patrick; one brother, Hubert (Sara) Butler; and a host of nieces and nephews.
