Mr. Leonard Durrell Perkins, age 85, of Carbon Hill, AL and formerly of Vernon, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Perkins was born March 26, 1936, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Henry and Minnie Rachel Perkins.  He served in the U.S. Army, and was a coalminer.  Mr. Perkins was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Ann Perkins; three brothers, Choyce Perkins, Bryce Perkins, and Carnis Perkins; and two sisters, Ruby Neal Higgins and Mary Lois Colburn.

There will be a graveside service Wednesday, January 26, at 1:00 PM, at Liberty Free Will Baptist Cemetery, with Dwight Bailey officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Perkins, of Carbon Hill, AL; one son, Wade (Norma) Perkins, of Adamsville, AL; one step-son, Scott (Frida) Curd, of Hackleburg, AL; one step-daughter, Lee Curd, of Chattanooga, TN; and a host of other family and friends.
