Ms. Lou Ella Knight, age 83 of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018, at Generations of Vernon.

Ms. Knight was born July 18, 1935, in Lamar Co., AL, to the late Forney and Annie Grace Hollis.  She was a machinist at McCoy Manufacturing for 32 years and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Vernon.  Ms. Knight enjoyed being with family and friends and visiting with the sick and shut-ins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter-in-law, Lillian Knight; one sister, Doris Ann Taylor; and one brother, James Lewis Hollis.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Vernon with Bro. Joe Beckon officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be Friday 12:00-2:00 at the church prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Zadus Turner, Mike Freeman, Heath Butler, Ray Kilpatrick, Brandon Cockerham, and Mike McDaniel.

Survivors include her son, Gene Knight of Flora, IN; one granddaughter, Rebecca Kay Knight of Flora, IN; two sisters, Mary Bennett of Sulligent, AL and Clara Grace (Walter) Piel of Odessa, TX; one brother, John Paul (Stella) Hollis of Columbus, MS; six nieces and six nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
