Mr. Luther Thomas Moore, age 85, of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, June 9, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

Mr. Moore was born March 5, 1937, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Lonnie Thomas and Annie Mae Moore.  He was a machine operator at Hyster, and was married to the late Maureen Sanford Moore and is currently married to Betty Elliott Moore.  Mr. Moore was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and so very loved by his family.  He went out of his way to help others and his family.  He was a great man of faith and always put others needs before himself.  He loved to sing in the church choir praising our Heavenly Father.  He was a man of strong love and integrity, and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 13, at 2:00 PM, at the Free Will Chapel Church, with Bro. Arnold Sheets officiating.  Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 at the church prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Alan Elliott, Riley Elliott, Isaac Jeffreys, Tyler McKeithen, Chad McKeithen, and John Robert Burnett.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Moore, of Vernon, AL; two daughters, Sonia (Bill) McKeithen of Oxford, MS and Cindy Moore of Vernon, AL; four step-children, Alan (Angie) Elliott, Cheryl(Jamison) Carr, Lenora (Glen) Hopper, and Beth (Daniel) Lann, three grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) McKeithen, Kelsey (John Robert) Burnett, and Tyler McKeithen; six step-grandchildre, Brandon(Morgan)Jordan, Katelyn (Logan) Sullins, Isaac Jeffreys, Riley Elliott, Hannah(Brady)Dollar, Logan Lann; five great-grandchildren, Drew and Maddie McKeithen, and Swayze, Isaac, Rowan and Blair Burnett; one step-great-grandchild, Carson Sullins; three sisters, Alice Johnson, Betty Pennington, and Helen (Wayne) Hays; and a host of nieces and nephews.
