Mr. Lynn Edward Perkins, age 66 of Red Banks, MS and formerly of Vernon, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Perkins was born February 23, 1953, in Vernon, AL, to the late Grover and Elizabeth Perkins. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Linda Perkins; his sister, Carol Sue Locke, and his uncle and aunt, Garland and Betty Perkins.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Tim Gentle officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening 6:00-8:00.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Taggart Perkins of Red Banks, MS; three sons, James Edward (Kim) Perkins of Carbon Hill AL, Joey Dean Perkins of Vernon, AL, and Johnny Leon Perkins of Vernon, AL; six grandchildren, Cheyenne Perkins of Hackleburg, AL, Casey Perkins of Hackleburg, AL, Dakota Perkins of Columbus, MS, Drake Perkins of Guin, AL, Madyson Perkins of Columbus, MS, and Tori Perkins of Vernon, AL; one step-son, Dallas Hollis of Bartlett, TN; one step-daughter, Alena Lunford of Ashville, NC; three step-grandchildren, Savannah and Madison Hollis, and Randy Phillips; two sisters, Lorene (Avery) Dyer of Columbus, MS and Cathy Jenkins of Tuscaloosa, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
