Mrs. Mae Jean Hagood, age 81, of the Fernbank Community in Millport, AL, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Glenwood Center in Florence, AL.

Mrs. Hagood was born November 19, 1939, in Lamar County, AL.  Mae Jean was a member of Fernbank Baptist Church, a hard worker, a homemaker, and a friend to anyone she met.  She adored her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren, and spent as much time as possible with them.  She was known for her loving, vibrant spirit and made everyone around her feel loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd & Dorothy Blanton; three brothers, David Blanton, Eddie Blanton, and Randall Blanton; and one sister, Nancy Beck.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Drew Moore officiating.  Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday evening 6:00-8:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Doug Blanton, Jeff Blanton, Drake Blanton, Gary Blanton, John David Hagood and Chad Hancock.

Mae Jean is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Jerry of Millport, AL; one daughter, Joy (Mike) Lasseter, of Pensacola, FL; one son, Jonathan (Amy) Hagood, of Saltillo, MS; three grandchildren, Kelsi (Jesse) Finley, Kalin (Lance) McRee, and John David Hagood; three great- grandchildren, Bailey Finley, Rylee Finley, and TC McRee; two brothers, Jim Blanton and Roy Blanton; along with many other family and friends.
