Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Dean Butler, age 91 of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Noland Health Services in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Mrs. Butler was born Oct. 5, 1920, Lamar Co., AL to the late Ed and Adine Falkner. She married Bernice Butler on March 2, 1947. She graduated from Lamar Co. High School and the University of Alabama. She was a homemaker and member of the Vernon First United Methodist Church since 1930. She was a Christian lady who was gracious, kind, compassionate to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Butler.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 at the Vernon First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Baily and Rev. Steve Spray officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 12-2 at the church prior to the service.
Survivors are her daughter, Joy (George) Newman of Tuscaloosa, AL; son, Tim (Beverly) Butler of Florence, AL; sister, Mary Frances Thomas of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, April Newman (Jeff) Coleman, Blake Butler Newman, and Lindsey Nicole Butler; and great-grandchild, Kate Julianne Coleman.
In leiu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Vernon First United Methodist Church or Corinth Food Pantry, P.O. Box 608, Vernon, AL 35592.
