Obituary
Margie Pauline Corbett Sims, age 98 of Vernon, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Generations of Vernon.
Mrs. Sims was born June 17, 1912 in Lamar Co., AL to the late John Henry and Virgie Elliot. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel with Scotty Stovolt, Glen Edmonds, Terry Robinson, and Brian Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakes Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors are two sons, James Edward (Tootsie) Corbett of Vernon and Billy Ray (Lavelle) Corbett of Sulligent; two daughters, Willie Quinn (Hubert) Pennington of Vernon and Mary Nell (John) Partain of Caledonia, MS; step-son, W. G. Sims of Columbus, MS; step-daughter, Ramona (John) Taggart of Vernon; brother, Billy Elliot of Vernon; sister, Evelyn Oakes of Vernon; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; a number of step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Corbett and Alvin Sims.
