February 16, 1974 – July 10, 2022
Mrs. Marsha Carol Redus Smith, age 48, of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at her residence.
Marsha was born and raised in Vernon, AL, and the daughter to Roger and Carol Redus, on February 16, 1974. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, watching home makeover and cooking channels, and Alabama football. Marsha adored her brother, Kyle Redus (Terry Rhoades), her sons, Dylan J. Williams and Jackson L. Williams, and her daughter, Macy B. Williams.
When Marsha married Jerry M. Smith on December 12, 2012, she inherited new family members--her mother-in-law. Rosa P. Smith; brother-in-law, Irvin (Barbara) Smith, Jr.; sister-in-law, Monica (Mike) Baisden; five step-children, Jessica (Michael) Bradford, Jerry M. Smith, II, Jacob M. Smith, Joshua I. Smith, and Jordan L. Smith, along with one grandson, Barrett R. Bradford. Marsha is also survived by her loving aunts and uncles, Danny (Mary) Butler, Annette Butler, Vallery (Chris) Kelly, and Ronnie (Belva) Redus, and special cousins and friends.
Marsha was preceded in death by her late grandparents, M.D. and Mava Lois Redus, Doris Butler, and Mr. and Mrs. Banks Butler; her father-in-law, Irvin S. Smith, Sr.; and her brother-in-law, Gregory B. Smith.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 15, at 12:00 PM, at the First Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. Joe Beckon officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00-12:00 prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers and plants, donations may be sent to the youth fund or nursery fund at the First Free Will Baptist Church.
Thank you to everyone who shared support during our time of changes and challenges. I would like to a special "thank you" to Dr. Amber Borden and staff, the nursing team at the Infusion Cancer Center, and the team member and ladies of Mid-States Petroleum, and Leanne Wheeler of Vernon and Vernetta H. Franklin of Houston, TX who were our special nurses with special ears.
