Mrs. Martha Ann Shaw Bardon, age 72 of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at her residence.
Mrs. Bardon was born October 5, 1944, in Lamar Co., AL, to the late Girlie and Effie Shaw. She was a member of Lamar Church of Christ and had her own in home day care. Mrs. Bardon enjoyed being with family and going on yearly camping trips with them. Her two greatest achievements were being a foster parent and raising five wonderful children.
Mrs. Bardon was preceded in death by her parents, and six brothers, Leroy Shaw, Troy Shaw, Dan Shaw, Thurman Shaw, Earlie Shaw, and James Hardy Shaw.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Jeff Randolph officiating. Burial will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday 1-3 prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Barton, Tyler Bardon, Michael Laporte, Alex Lewis, Daniel Wigley, and Doyle Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be the men at Lamar Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Rufus Bardon of Vernon, AL; three daughters, Judy (Bobby) Wright of Quebeck, TN, Susy (Anthony) Crosman of Vernon, AL, and Lisa (Elihu) Lowery of Birmingham, AL; two sons, James (Rhonda) Bardon of Lebanon, TN and Glen (Tammy) Bardon of Vernon, AL; one brother, Woodrow (Peggy) Shaw of Coker, AL; 11 grandchildren, Tyler Bardon, Brooklyn Bardon, Melissa Laporte, Alex Lewis, Megan Wigley, Danielle Crosman, McKenzie Crosman, Mallory Bardon, Kylie Lowery, Aidan Lowery, and Noah Lowery; six great-grandchildren, Skyler Lewis, Kilah Lewis, Jace Lewis, Calen Lewis, Stephanie Guin, and Nathaniel Guin; her beloved pet, Sayban; and a host of other family and friends.
