Mrs. Martha Virginia "Ginnie" Stockman, age 91 of Linden, TX, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2012, in Linden.

Mrs. Stockman was born January 28, 1921 in the Bedford Community in Sulligent, AL to the late John B. and Maudie Cribbs Edwards. She was a division manager for Sears for 35 years then retired and traveled all over the U.S. with her husband and love of her life, Ernest Kirk "Mutt" Stockman. They enjoyed visiting their daughters and grandchildren and spending time in their home state of Alabama visiting their relatives. They moved from Caledonia, MS to Mission, TX in 1955 where they lived about 10 years, then moved to McAllen, TX, where they lived until 2007 and were very active members of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Stockman made friends any and everywhere she went and never met a stranger, and she loved life. She was present at the birth of her fourth great-great-granddaughter, Zoe Elizabeth Wenzel.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stockman was preceded in death by her husband, Mutt Stockman; her daughter, Linda Barrow; and brother, John (Annie) Edwards, Jr.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 in the funeral home chapel with Eddie Finch and Jeff Harvill officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be Sunday evening 6-8.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Wenzel of Linden, TX; brother, Tracy (Lola Mae) Edwards of Vernon, AL; five grandchildren, Debbie Rhyne, Tammy Taylor, Danny Wenzel, Dwayne Wenzel, and David Wenzel; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Johnny Barrow; two nephews, Scott (Leah) Edwards and Jimmy (Mary Ruth) Edwards; and one niece, Annette (Walter) Pennington.

The family has requested memorials be made to Furnace Hill Cemetery Fund, Attention Sue Hollis, 3324 County Lake Road, Sulligent, AL 35586.
