Mrs. Mary Frances Cantrell, age 81, of Vernon, AL, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Cantrell was born April 30, 1944, to the late Charley "Buster" and Adell (Herron) Merchant.  She was married to the late Shorty Cantrell, and was an assembly line worker at Chromalox.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rollie Herron and Gerald Merchant, and one sister, Mary Jo Gilmer.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 6, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. B.J. Mills and Bro. Carlos Dean officiating.  A graveside service will follow at Wofford Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Leslie Carr, Jeff Carr, Tony Merchant, Randy Thomas, Peter Davis, and John Brandom.

Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Stockman (Bruce Watkins), of Vernon, AL; one grandchild, Tyler (Tina) Stockman, of Vernon, AL; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Stockman, Harper Stockman, and Hunter Gallop; two sisters, Sible (Brooks) Thomas and Helen Cantrell; one brother, Pud (Mary) Merchant; and a host of nieces and nephews.
