Mrs. Mary Eleanore Hawthorne, age 94 of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Hawthorne was born March 15, 1925, in Washington, DC, to the late Clay and Mary Elizabeth Watkins.  She was a homemaker and was married to the late Paul W. Hawthorne.

Survivors include one son, Allen (Mary Lou) Hawthorne of Vernon, AL; one daughter, Paula Marie Shaffer of Cleveland, TN; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
