Ms. Mary Edith Irvin, age 89 of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Generations of Vernon.

Ms. Irvin was born December 22, 1928, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Edgar and Lily Cooper.  She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family.  Ms. Irvin was also preceded in death by two brothers, Stanford Cooper and  Edgar Cooper, Jr.; two half-brothers, R.L. Jones and Conley Jones; and one half-sister, Bertha Harmon.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Eddie Finch officiating.  Burial will follow at Riggins Chapel Cemetery in Splunge, MS.  Visitation will be Saturday 12:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Survivors include one son, Michael (Becky) Irvin of Vernon, AL; two daughters, Cathy (Tom) Olive of Florence, AL and Lisa (Steve) Johns of Jonesboro, AR; eight grandchildren, Justin Irvin, Samantha Irvin, Loren Price, Bryan Sorrells, Scott Sorrells, Brittany Johns, Amanda Johns, and Blake Johns; four great-grandchildren, Gabe Sorrells, Annabeth Irvin, Eleanor Irvin, and Addison Price.
