Mary Nell Langley

Mrs. Mary Nell Langley, age 90, of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her residence.

Mrs. Langley was born March 24, 1936, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Woods and Lola Sorrells Crawford.  She graduated from Sulligent High School in 1954, then married Elbert Langley on September 17, 1955.  She worked at McCoy Manufacturing as a shipping payroll clerk, and also worked as a Red Cross and private care nurse for many years.  Mrs. Langley also did lots of traveling as an Air Force Dependent for over 20 years.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy (Marie) Crawford, and her sisters, Shirley (Loman) Millican and JoAnn Crawford.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 9, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Joe Beckon officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Quintin Crawford, Wesley Crawford, Hunter Wood, Daniel Traywick, Jacob Traywick, Bradley Vining, Joe Traywick, Brandon Crawford, and John Knox.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law, Johnny (Babs) Langley and Jimmy (Ann) Langley; and one sister-in-law, Judy Merchant.
