Mrs. Mary Alice Thomas, age 84, of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at her residence.

Mrs. Thomas was born December 7, 1939, in Lamar County, AL, to the late William "Bill" and Louise Loftis.  She was a member of the Vernon Church of Christ and was a bookkeeper at Vernon Milling Company.  She enjoyed being with her family and being Granny to her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Services will be a private graveside service for the family Monday, January 8, at 1:00 PM, at Union Chapel Cemetery, with Eddie Finch officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Thomas, of Vernon, AL; three sons, Mark (Angie) Thomas of Vernon, AL, Andy Thomas of Decatur, AL, and Randy (Liz) Thomas of Decatur, AL; two grandchildren, Lance (Ashley) Thomas and Logan (Chris) Woods; one great-grandchild, Lola Grace Thomas; her special friend and caretaker, Tracy Salters; and a host of cousins and friends.
