Obituary
Mrs. Mildred Lee Gibson Hawkins, age 72 of Millport, AL, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. Hawkins was born September 24, 1939 in Hart Co., GA to the late Elmer and Mary Gibson and was a seamstress at a garment plant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Hawkins and seven brothers, Willie Gibson, Donald Gibson, Clyde Gibson, L.C. Gibson, Melvin Gibson, Walter Gibson, and Thomas Gibson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 3, at 2:00 at the Christian Chapel Church of Christ with Travis Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 11-1 at the funeral home.
Survivors are her son, Ted (LaVerna) Hawkins of Millport, AL; two daughters, Charlotte (Jerry) Brownlee of Columbus, MS and Nancy (Gary) Humbers of Millport, AL; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Helen Blanchard, Kathleen Harlow, Linda Foxworth, and Jeannie Creamer.
