Ms. Murtice Lorene Guyton, age 82, of Sulligent, AL, passed away Saturday, October 26. 2024, at her residence.

Ms. Guyton was born March 12, 1942, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Littleton and Ruthie Mae Young Guyton.  She was a seamstress at McCoy Manufacturing, and was also preceded in death by her sister, Joy F. Maxwell, and three brothers, Carl Green, George T. Green, and William D. Green.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 28, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Pastor Dejuana Wallace officiating.  Burial will follow at the Beaverton City Cemetery.  Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 prior to the service.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Warren Guyton of Vernon, AL and Bobby Lee (Rhonda) Guyton of Sulligent, AL; two daughters, Janie Mae Guyton and Teresa Smith, both of Sulligent, AL; eight grandchildren, Natasha Guyton, Amanda Blair, Christy Rainey, Nathan Guyton, Lisa Marie Guyton, Jeffrey Lee Smith, Edward Junior Smith, and Cassie Guyton; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Shirley Sorrells of Vernon, AL and Wanda Faye Weeks of Guin, AL; and a host of other family and friends.
