Obituary
Mrs. Nob Melinda Smith Reed, age 99 of Birmingham, AL and formerly of Vernon, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Compassus Hospice in Birmingham.
Mrs. Reed was born January 13, 1918, in Hall Co., GA to the late Claude and Hattie Lee Smith. She was a homemaker and was married to the late William M. Reed. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Smith of Gainesville, GA.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with the family officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon City Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, James Thomas Reed of Pinson, AL; one daughter, Melinda Reed Mosley of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, Mark Thomas Reed, Bethany Reed Harrison, James Lantzy Reed, Peyton Reed Mosley, Emily Beth Thames, and Rachel Melinda Mosley; and six great-grandchildren.
