Obituary
Mr. Orbon York Smith, age 92 of Vernon, AL, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Generations of Vernon.
Mr. Smith was born September 13, 1919, in Newtonville, AL to the late Tom and Sarah Elizabeth Smith. He was a county supervisor.
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 27, at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with Earl Mitchell and Howard Dunaway officiating. Graveside services will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday 12-2 prior to the service.
Survivors are daughter, Sally (Jeff) Randolph of Vernon; son, John York (Cindy) Smith of Tampa, FL; eight grandchildren, Brandon Trent (Julie) Randolph, Patrick Kyle (Brandi) Randolph, Caleb Jeffrey Randolph, John Warren Smith, Brianna Imogene Smith, Adam York Smith, Samuel Paul Smith, and Bethanee Lane Smith; and one great-grandchild, Gavin Trent Randolph.
He was preceded in death by his his wife, Jimmy Smith; daughter, Marianne Smith; and his parents.
