Mrs. Patsy Loretta Maddox, age 79, of Vernon, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Maddox was born August 29, 1942, in Wayside, AL, to the late Ruben and Nell Fowler.  She worked as a secretary at Renfroe Construction Company and for Mayers and Company, and was a bank teller at First Federal Savings and Loan Bank.  She was also the co-owners of Weems of Vernon Furniture Store with her husband Terry.  Mrs. Maddox was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Bible school for a number of years.  She was also preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 43 years, Terry B. Maddox, Sr.; her grandson, Carson Maddox; and her sister, Fannie Lou Fowler.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 11, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Ray and Bro. Ed Broadway officiating.  Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery in the Wayside Community.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

She is survived by one daughter, Angie (Mark) Thomas, of Vernon, AL; two sons, Ben (Amanda) Maddox and Chad (Jennifer) Maddox, both of Vernon, AL; seven grandchildren, Trey (Holley) Maddox, Lance (Ashley) Thomas, Adam Maddox, Logan Thomas, Chase Maddox, Mason Maddox, and Caden Maddox; her great-granddaughter, Lola Grace Thomas; her brother, Jimmy (Sheila) Fowler; her sister-in-law, Gladys Maddox; and her lifelong best friend, Frieda Maddox.
