Mrs. Patty Sue Shackelford, age 70, of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville.

Patty was born April 17, 1955, in Vernon, AL, to the late Anderson and Anner Sue (Lampkin) Burgess. She was a loving wife, caring mother. her husbands best friend, and a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and was a member of "The Heaven Bound Clown" ministry of Pickensville Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Burgess, and her sister, Charlotte Bogue

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 6, at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Tim Jones and Ron Scott officiating.  Burial will follow at Lampkins Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Scott, Aaron Hudson, Chris Shackelford, J.T. Shackelford, Adam Pate, Ashley Pate and Nathan Scott.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Shackelford, of Vernon, AL; two sons, Ben (Jennifer) Shackelford of Huntsville, AL and Brad (Hannah) Shackelford of Vernon, AL; five grandchildren, Chris (Morgan) Shackelford of Vicksburg, MS, J.T. (Makenzie) Shackelford of Vernon, AL, Abby Shackelford of Huntsville, AL, Allie Shackelford of Huntsville, AL, and Greyson Shackelford of Vernon, AL; one sister Pam (Ron) Scott of Cabot, AR; and a host of other family and friends.
