Mr. Richard Paul Johnson, age 81, of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Mr. Johnson was born February 3, 1944, in Vernon, AL, to the late John Richard and Dorothy Mae (Rogers) Johnson, and was married to the late Dorothy Sue (Atkins) Johnson.  He worked at Sanford Company for a number of years and later owned Johnson's Cleaners in Vernon, and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ray Johnson.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 12, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Eddie Finch officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Survivors include his daughter, Paula (Greg) Stanford, of Vernon, AL; his son, John Paul (Sharon) Johnson, of Sulligent, AL; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Zack) Tolleson, Tori Stanford, Tanner (Katlyn) Johnson, and Dalton Johnson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
