Mr. John Paul Robertson, Sr., age 71 of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, in Vernon.

Mr. Robertson was born October 15, 1944, to the late Andrew Avery and Tezzie Mae Robertson. He was a self-employed contractor and a member of the Vernon Church of Christ. Mr. Robertson enjoyed being with his family and friends and being a granddaddy to his granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sue Pennington.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 at the Vernon Church of Christ with Eddie Finch officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 1-3 at the church prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Fred Thomas, Jerry Glenn Merchant, Ray Pennington, Alan Pennington, Jerome Bradford, and Bill Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Hester, Donnie Hester, Randy Hankins, Randy Watkins, James Lacy, Mike Glasgow, Price Dobbins, Chris Robertson, Brian Robertson, Jimmy Ray Aldridge, and Tommy Standridge.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Robertson of Vernon, AL; two sons, John Paul (Kimberly) Robertson, Jr. and Andrew Curtis Robertson, both of Vernon, AL; four granddaughters, Summer (Tyler) Edgeworth, Regan Robertson, Tezzie Robertson, and Seelee Robertson; two brothers, Fred (Karen) Robertson and Avery (Sandra) Robertson; and two sisters, Frances Hardy and Mary Aldridge.
