Mr. Lester Paul Ward, age 85 of Indianapolis, IN and formerly of Vernon, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2018, at the Rosegate Village in Indianapolis.

Mr. Ward was born March 6, 1934, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Lester Willard and Maggie Crowder Ward.  He worked as a lithographer for over 40 years and was a member of the Graphic Communications Union.  Mr. Ward was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy Lane Ward.

There will be a graveside service Monday morning at 11:00 at Furnace Hill with Sonny McLellan officiating.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Nina Ward of Indianapolis, IN; two daughters, Melinda Ward and Beth Ward; three sons, David (Mary) Ward, Daniel (Rosanne) Ward, and Thomas (Karen) Ward; six grandchildren, Maggie (Nathan) Moore, Kelly (James) Chamberlin, Samuel Paul Ward, Alec Ward, Drew (Kimberly) Ward, and Abby Ward; four great-grandchildren, Avery Moore, Eli Moore, Logan Chamberlin, and Xayden Ward; and his faithful dog Brutus.
