Mr. Sidney Ray Reeves, age 58, of Northport, AL and formerly of Vernon, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Moundville Health and Rehab.
Ray was born June 7, 1965, in Vernon, AL, to the late Sidney Reeves and Rhoda Rhodes. He worked in sales, and was also preceded in death by his step-father, James Rhodes. Ray loved God and trusted Jesus. He loved family more than anything, all you had to do was ask him about one of his children and you would know, you might not be able to get him to stop talking. Ray loved being a father and grandfather, and was looking forward to meeting his three grandchildren on the way. He was truly the best Dad in the world, and it didn't matter if he was dancing with his daughters or at the lake fishing with his sons, he loved being with family. Anyone that knew Ray would tell you he liked to pick on everyone and would tell everyone "I wouldn't pick on you if I didn't like you." He could keep you laughing for days. He never met a stranger and loved people and cheering on The Tide. Ray loved being involved in youth sports whether coaching little league football or baseball, and was competitive like no other. He was always ready to take a road trip, and the destination was not important. He was loved by his family more than he will ever know, and his laugh, smile and jokes will be missed.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 24, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with James Godsey and Dillon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.
Survivors include two sons, Chris (Kayla) Reeves of Northport, AL and James Reeves of Columbus, MS; four daughters, Megan (Dominic) Stockman of Hamilton, AL, Nicole (Patrick King) Reeves of Winfield, AL, Mary Beth (Ryan) Foster of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Melissa Reeves of Myrtle, MS; three grandsons, Carter Culver, Cohen Reeves, and Kristopher Stockman; three grandchildren on the way, Noah, Easton, and Baby Stockman; one brother, Steve (Susan) Reeves; and one sister, Cyndie Foley.
