Mr. Rickey Harrison Merchant, age 65, of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Merchant was born July 6, 1955, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Noble and Jessie Mae Merchant.  He was a carpenter and cattle farmer, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Merchant was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Hanson and Eva Jo Merchant.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:00, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with James Godsey officiating.  Burial will follow at Wofford.  Visitation will be Tuesday 1:00-3:00 prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Kenny Jordan, Dennis Hopper, Tony Merchant, Geoffrey Cantrell, Jason Young, Kevin Gunnels, Mike McCool, James Robinson, and Chuck White.  Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Butler, Al White, Danny Stapp, Randal Price, and Wayne Rogers.

Survivors include one son, Jesse Merchant; one daughter, Josey Merchant; one grandson, Micah Merchant; one brother, Al (Rose) Merchant; one sister, Patsy (Larry) Nichols; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
