Obituary
Mr. Robert Earl Hester, age 80 of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Fayette Medical Center.
Mr. Hester was born July 13, 1935, in Vernon, AL, to the late Robert Lee and Evelyn Nettie Hester. He was the head mechanic at McCoy Manufacturing and enjoyed horses, playing guitar, and riding motorcycles. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Chad Linley and Phillip Linley.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 at Springfield Freewill Baptist Church with Wade Peoples and John Johnson officiating. He will lie in state at the church 1-2. Burial will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 at the funeral home.
Survivors include his son, Nathan Hester of Vernon, AL; two daughters, Robbie Ann (Tony) Linley of Louisville, MS and Sonya Dawn (Jason) Turner of Vernon, AL; three grandchildren, Brad Linley, Ethan Hester, and Madison Turner; one great-grandchild, Sage Linley; and his longtime girlfriend, Judy Johnson.
