Mrs. Rona Surratt, age 85 of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Surratt was born April 26, 1935, in Stephenville, Newfoundland, to the late Bernerd Parsons and the late Ethel Parsons Hulas.  She was an avid gardner, baker, and animal lover.  Mrs. Surratt was a member of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, and was a very proud and dedicated military wife to her husband, the late Gaylord Q. Surratt.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Marty Surratt; her step-father, Jacob Hulas; her brothers, Harry Parsons, Marvin Parsons, Bernard Parsons, Sam Parsons (Pauline) and infant brother Lawrence; her sisters, Sarah Rebecca Parsons, Loretta Parsons, and Rita Hysong (Jimmy).

There will be a memorial service announced at a time.

Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Anne (Mose Lee) Sudduth; two grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Sudduth and Jordan Sudduth; two brothers, Jack (Marilyn) Parsons and Michael Parsons; one sister, Margaret Parsons (Carl) Beckman; two step-brothers, Eric Hulas and Neal Hulas; and a number of nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
