Mrs. Ruby Chapple Hudson, age 90 of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.

Mrs. Hudson was born April 12, 1926, in Lowndes Co., MS, to the late Charlie Eldon and Sammie Yarbrough. She was a retired factory worker at the garment plant and was married to the late L.C. Hudson. In addtion to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hudson was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Yarbrough and Billy Yarbrough, and her sister, Floy Sanders.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Max Bobbitt and Keith Rhudy officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be Friday evening 6-8.

Active pallbearers will be Matt Stapp, Phillip Hollis, Bryant Hollis, Steven Simpson, Jeremy White, Austin Hollis, and Chase Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be M.L. Hollis, Vance Herron, Jeff Wilson, Billy Dollar, Kenny Hollis, Thomas Leonard, A.C. Hollis, and Tim Hudson.

Survivors include two daughters, Delores (Alan) Jones and Barbara (Terry) Stapp, both of Vernon, AL; one son, Ross (Diane) Hudson of Vernon, AL; 10 grandchildren, Phillip Hollis, Rhonda (J.R.) Rogers, Charlon Harrison, Bryant Hollis, Kendra Tate, Shawn McLemore, Matt Stapp, Jamie Smith, Whitney Hudson, and Skyler White; 11 great-grandchildren, Jaeda Simpson, Chase Harrison, Austin Hollis, Bailey Hollis, Alaney Hollis, Addi Helms, Karlee Galvez, Baze McLemore, Race McLemore, Savannah Smith, and Brantly Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.
