Obituary
Eva Ruth Maples Smith, age 76 of Sulligent, AL, passed away Wed., Aug. 25, 2010 at Aurora Australis Lodge in Columbus, MS.
Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 12, 1933 in Lamar Co., AL to the late Julieus and Ava Maples. She enjoyed going to church, playing with her grandchildren, working in her flower beds, and playing with her dog Tiny.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with Sonny McLellan and David Traywick officiating. Graveside service will follow at Furnace Hill.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie (Tammy) Smith of Sulligent; three daughters, Peggy (Charles) Stanford of Vernon, Jackie Smith of Sulligent, and Kathy (Greg) Gee of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Smith; son, Ricky Smith; parents; granddaughter, Carey Smith; and great-grandson, Brady Stanford.
