Obituary
Ms. Sandra Denise Duke, age 52 of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Ms. Duke was born May 25, 1962, in Columbus, MS, to M.F. Duke and the late Gail Duke. She was a seamstress and CNA at the nursing home. Ms. Duke was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Jean Helton; her mama, Gail Duke; her brother, Shotgun Duke; and her sister, Ginger Waid.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with James Godsey officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6-9.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby (Ashley) Curry of Tuscaloosa, AL, Dale (Stacy) Curry of Vernon, AL, and Hank Curry of Vernon, AL; one daughter, Nikki Curry (Greg Williams) of Vernon, AL; her father, M.F. Duke of Vernon, AL; 11 grandchildren, Alex Denton, Jeremy Denton, Jessica Curry, Bailey Curry, Aubrey Curry, Kirsten Burks, Delaney Burks, Cadence Curry, Keele Algoe, Katelin Algoe, and Blake Algoe; four brothers, Bennette Duke, Matt Duke, Doug Duke, and Richard Harris; and three sisters, Vicky Barton, Nancy Welch, and Diann Wallace.
