Obituary
Mrs. Sarah Gann Loftis, age 84 of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Hospice of West Alabama.
Mrs. Loftis was born December 12, 1931, in Vernon, AL, to the late Burt and Hettie Guin. She and her husband, the late Howard Loftis, owned and operated the Sears catalog store in Vernon for many years. She was also a member of the Vernon First United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Loftis was also preceded in death by her sister, Berta Bracken.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Patrick Cooley and Mike Loftis officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 1-2 prior to the service.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Tammy) Loftis of Vernon, AL; her daughter, Cathy (John) Murphy of Vernon, AL; her brother, Jimmy (Lou) Guin of York, AL; two grandchildren, Jacob Murphy of Caledonia, MS and Sarah Jo Murphy of Oxford, MS; her lifelong friend, Dorothy Sue Delk; and two special friends, Tammy Carr and Martha McReynolds.
