Mrs. Sarah Bernice Morton, age 85 of Vernon, AL, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020, in Lebanon, TN.

Mrs. Morton was born May 21, 1934, in Vernon, AL, to the late Arthur and Clara McNees Mitchell.  She was a seamstress and was married to the late Kelly Morton.  She was also preceded in death by her two daughters, Diane (Bob) Robinson and Debbie Morton, and her brother, E.L. (Ivey) Mitchell.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Eddie Finch officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Charles Williams, Karl Williams, Lance Pennington, Lloyd Ott, Chad Rogers, and Curtis Heatherly.

Survivors include her son, James (Becky) Morton of Vernon, AL; two granddaughters, Stephanie Morton of Dallas, GA and Ginny (Taylor) Shipp of Lebanon, TN; three great-grandchildren, Kalam and Kyan Young, and Montgomery Shipp; and her special friends, Keri (Chad) Rogers, Tyler Pennington, Sharon Morrison, and Linda Glover.
