Mrs. Shirley Mae Campbell, age 80 of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Mrs. Campbell was born July 27, 1936, in Franklin Co., AL, to the late James Benton and Ada Ross Horton and was a machine operator at Chromolox. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Stanley Scott and Richard Scott; one sister, Lillian Horton Gober; and two brothers, Ross Horton and Hurtis Horton.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Danny Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brent Scott, Jeff Glass, Trevor McKay, David Unger, and Dustin Nichols.
Survivors include her husband, Rayford Campbell of Vernon, AL; two sons, Steve (Carolyn) Scott of Tuscumbia, AL and Randall (Wanda) Scott of Texarkana, TX; three daughters, Rena Campbell of Vernon, AL, Deborah (Donald) McKay of Vernon, AL, and Jackie (Scott) Whitworth of Tupelo, MS; her daughter-in-law, Alice Scott; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Joyce Horton Wooten of Vina, AL.
