Mrs. Sue Burgess Miller, age 88 of Columbus, MS and formerly of Vernon, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020, at Windsor Place in Columbus.

Mrs. Miller was born February 22, 1932, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Gardner and Wilma Lampkins, and was a supervisor at the garment plant.  She was a faithful and lifelong member of Nebo United Methodist Church, and enjoyed sewing, singing, and crocheting.  Mrs. Miller was also preceded in death by her husbands, Anderson Burgess and Burnett Miller; one son, Billy Burgess; three sisters, Audie Richards, Earthie (Bobbie) Porter, and Gertrude Lampkins; one brother, Winston Lampkins; and her son-in-law, Rodney Bogue.

There will be a family only service Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Ron Scott officiating.  Burial will follow at Lampkin Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Patty (Johnny) Shackelford of Pickensville, AL, Charlotte Bogue of New Albany, MS, and Pam (Ron) Scott of Cabot, AR; one step-daughter, Naomi (Lynn) McCullar of Hamilton, AL; nine grandchildren, Ben (Jennifer) Shackelford, Brad (Hannah) Shackelford, Jason Hudson, Aaron Hudson, Tyler (Courtney) Scott, Nathan (Katie) Scott, Crissy (Josh) Lynn, Kim (Keith) Coffey, and Jeff (Tracy) Bogue; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
