Mrs. Virginia Taggart peacefully entered her eternal home on August 5, 2018, after a prolonged illness. She resided at Morning Glory Meadows Assisted Living in Fyffe, AL, where she had many dear and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M.T. (Tom) Taggart; her parents, Lonnie and Pearl O'Mary; brothers Henry O'Mary, Charlie O'Mary, Robert O'Mary and Johnny O'Mary.
She is survived by her son, M.T. (Tommy) Taggart, Jr. and wife, Brenda; grand-daughter Savannah Taggart; brothers James O'Mary and wife Mary, Ray O'Mary and wife Sue; sister Ollie Wilson; cherished sisters-in-law Betty Howe and Willie Mae Taggart; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Crews, AL and lived most of her life in Vernon, AL, where she leaves behind many dear friends and neighbors that she considers family.
She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, and simply "getting-to-know" people. She never met a stranger, and always made friends wherever the road of life led. She was a long-time member of Springfield Free Will Baptist Church, and was recently blessed to have members of her Sunday School class pay a visit in her new home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 8 th, from 11:00 – 1:00 at Chandler Funeral Home in Vernon, AL, with services immediately following in the chapel. Burial will be at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon.
The family wishes to say a sincere THANK YOU to the nurses and staff of Huntsville Hospital, for the exceptional care and compassion they provided during her final days.
