Mrs. Wanda Johnson Palmer, age 69 of Sulligent, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham.

Wanda was born April 21, 1950, in Tuscaloosa, AL, to the late Henry and Alice Johnson.  While she was in school, Wanda worked as a librarian then later worked assorted jobs from retail to desk clerk and homemaker.  She was a friend to all unless they crossed her or her family, and she was loyal to a fault with a giver's heart.  Wanda was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Annie Faye Rawlins, Becky Johnson, and Henrietta Williams; one brother, Buddy Johnson; her step-son, Lesley Palmer; and three nephews, Johnny Rawlins, Robert Wyers, and Charles "Chuck" Johnson.

Funeral services will be Friday at 12:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with James Godsey officiating.  Graveside services will follow at 2:30 at the Tuscaloosa Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday 11:00-12:00 prior to the service.

Wanda is survived by her husband, John Palmer; her step-daughter, Susan (Frankie) Rogers; one niece, Debbie (Jeff) Oswalt; one nephew, Timothy (LeAnne) Lipham; and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and grandchildren.
