Mr. Howard Wayne Berry, age 74, of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Berry was born November 13, 1946, and was the fourth of five children to Jesse Talmadge "Tal" and Rosie Marie Berry.  He was a 1965 graduate of Lamar County High School and was a member of Academy Baptist Church.  Mr. Berry was in the trucking business for over 50 years, and owned Dixie Transport Inc. of Vernon, AL.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Berry was also preceded in death by two infant sisters, Joy Sand Berry and Patsy Carol Berry, and one brother, Bobby Berry.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 9, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Keith Rhudy, Brian Berry, Daniel Berry, and Joe Moseley officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Berry, of Vernon, AL; one son, Steven (Allison) Berry, of Madison, AL; one granddaughter, Olivia Berry, of Madison, AL; one brother, Earl (Brenda) Berry, of Vernon, AL; two sisters-in-law, Dianne (Johnny) Glasgow and Sherry Berry, both of Vernon, AL; his mother-in-law, Ivernia Corbell, of Vernon, AL; two nephews, Brian (Terri) Berry and Jeremy (Angela) Glasgow, both of Vernon, AL; three nieces, Karon (Tim) Bobbitt, Janet (Vance) Herron, and Nickie (Joe) Moseley, all of Vernon, AL; five great-nephews; and eight great-nieces.
