Obituary
Mr. William Henry Allen, age 84 of Vernon, AL, passed away Friday, December7, 2012, at Valley View Health and Rehab in Madison, AL.
Mr. Allen was born December 12, 1928, in Lamar Co., AL to the late Joseph Henry and Mattie Allen. He served in the U.S. Army and Korean Conflict. He was a cashier/loan officer at the Bank of Vernon and member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Allen was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Allen and Demps Allen, and his sister, Margaret Crew.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 10, at 2:00 at the First Baptist Church with Clyde Steven officiating. Graveside services will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday 12:30-2:00 prior to the service.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sue Allen of Vernon, AL; three sons, William "Bill" H. (Theresa) Allen of Madison, AL, Fred (Pam) Allen of Plano, TX, and Barry (Vicki) Allen of Buford, GA; brother, Ed (Betty) Allen of Vernon, AL; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six foster children; and a host of nieces and nephews.
