Mr. William "Bill" Tipton Bryant, age 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away Monday, July 29, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Mr. Bryant was born September 28, 1944, in Lamar County, AL, to the late William Walter and Elna May Johnson Bryant. He attended Caledonia High School where he graduated in 1963. Mr. Bryant was a faithful member of Steens Church of Christ, and worked as a mechanic for Ellis Construction and Phillips Contracting Company. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryant was also preceded in death by son, John Thomas Bryant; his grandson, Kobe Strickland; and his sister, Alwilda Bryant.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 3, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Tim Gentle and Pete Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara Bryant, of Columbus, MS; two daughters, Theresa Hendrix (Billy O'Mary) of Caledonia, MS and Sandra Lavergne of Millport, AL; one son, William Tipton ( Denise) Bryant, Jr. of Harvey, LA; two sisters Emma Allen of Middleton, TN and Juanita Bryant of Columbus, MS; 12 grandchildren, Jacob Grijalva, Lane Hendrix, Lauren Hendrix, Stacey Lynn Brennen, Tiffanie Hall, Stacey James Lavergne, Jr., Lindsey Montgomery, Taylor Lavergne, Katie Bryant, Zakarie Bryant, Lindsey Garrison, and Jason Bryant; and a host of other great-grandchildren, other family, and friends.
