Mr. William Britt Duke "Britt", age 83 of Vernon, AL passed away November 27, 2019, at Hospice of West Alabama.

Mr. Duke was born April 24, 1936, in Vernon, AL, to the late M.E. "Zeke" and Flora Mae Duke.  He was an electrician with IBEW Local Union 136, but enjoyed flying airplanes and driving race cars.   He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lanita D. Mayers; grandson-in-law, Doug Jackson; brothers, John A Duke and Joe Van Duke (Wincie); sister, Fannie Dean Robinson (Cotton); and brother-in-law, Hoyt DuBose.

Survivors included: daughter, Dette Lee (Curtis); son, Jared Duke; son-in-law, Richard McMillan Mayers, Sr.; granddaughters, Amberley Machelle Jackson and Laura-Ashley Eagan (Brian); grandson, Richard McMillan Mayers, Jr.; two great-granddaughters, Lanita-Kathryn Eagan and Vivienne-Jane Eagan; one great-grandson, Theodore Mayers Jackson; brother, Jack Duke (Kaye); sisters, Nellie Carol DuBose and Patricia Ann Duke (Jerry); sister-in-law, Sarah Jo Duke; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1 ^st from 1:00-2:00 PM followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM with all services held at Chandler Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Christian Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Roy Duke, Scott Duke, Rick Harrison, Jason DuBose, Alan Gill, and Brian Maddox.  Honorary Pallbearers will be his friends at Mac's Minit Mart.
