Obituary
Mr. William Fred Pennington, age 90 of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Generations of Vernon.
Mr. Pennington was born December 20, 1923, in Lamar Co., AL, to the late Willie and Ellie Pennington. He served in the U.S. Army, was a railroad worker, and was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pennington was preceded in death by his first wife, Levoy Pennington; his son, Marvin Lawrence; two sisters, Marie and Clara Mae; and four brothers, Gilbert, Jess Willard, Merale, and James.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 at the Christian Chapel Church of Christ with Travis Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in the Hightogy Community. Visitation will be Saturday 1-2 at the church prior to the service.
Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife, Margaret Pennington of Vernon, AL; four sons, Redus (Sarah) Pennington of Fairhope, AL and his daughters, Dee Dee, Patty, and Elizabeth, Jay (Debbie) Lawrence of Columbus, MS and his two daughters, Freedom and Christy, Dale (Donna) Lawrence of Hamilton, AL and his two daughters, Amy and Kim, and Bill (Tisha) Pennington of Vernon, AL and his daughter, Jordan; and three brothers, Travis Pennington, Frazier Pennington, and Buck Pennington.
