Mr. William Herchel Gallop, age 84 of Caledonia, MS, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS.

Mr. Gallop was born April 22, 1929, in Lamar Co., AL to the late Jonas and Donnie Mae Gallop. He was a farmer and served in the U.S. Army and Korean War. Mr. Gallop was also preceded in death by his brother, Hunter Gallop, and three sisters, Ilene Duncan, Marjorie Mattison, and Betty Gallop.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 in the funeral home chapel with Bruce Morgan and Bobby Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6-8.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Gallop of Caledonia, MS; two sons, Tony (Susan) Gallop and Kevin (Cheryl) Gallop, both of Caledonia, MS; five grandchildren, Jay Gallop, Micki Gallop, Kelli (Bob) Hines, Christy (Clay) Gartman, and Matt (Stacy) Gallop; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
