Mr. Willie "Bill" Banks Burnett, age 93 of Sulligent, AL, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Burnett was born July 8, 1919, in Lamar Co., AL, to the late Charlie Franklin and Zeo Burnett and was a timber manager. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Calvin Burnett; great-grandson, Dustin Egger; and all his brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church with Mike Nabors officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 10-11 at the church prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Ora Seay Burnett of Sulligent, AL; two daughters, Joy (Bud) Phillips of Columbus, MS and Loraine "Laurie" (Trevor) Hicks of Cummings, GA; daughter-in-law, Lenora Burnett; four grandchildren, Shae (Ellis) Thompson, Colby Waldon, Brian James, and Hollie (Chad) Higdon; five great-grandchildren, Logan Waldon, Maris James, Harrison Higdon, Justin Thompson, and Ethan Thompson; one great-great-grandchild, Katie Thompson; sister-in-law, Ora Lee Burnett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
